Default Help! Unable to permanently set the correct date.

On my new 2013 Volt I have noticed that I am unable to permanently set the correct date. Since everything else works fine, this smells like a software bug that more people could have. Did anybody notice the same problem? I agree its only a minor problem, but it can trip off a few functions such as the summer winter energy rate schedule change.

This is the symptom: The date is always one day ahead (e.g. Sept 11, if today is Sept 10). Then I set it correctly to today's date (Sept 10). So far so good. Switch off the car, and on again. Date is still correct. Switch off and open the door, then close and switch on: date is now wrong again (sept 11). I tried fooling it by setting it to sept 9, but it always resets to tomorrow no matter what date was entered manually.

Any ideas what I miss here? Much appreciated!

See my original post on this subject. I had exactly the same issue and had to bring the car into the dealer for diagnosis and then a software "Update".

I would call your Volt advisor prior to bringing the car into the dealer since the fix on my 2013 has introduced a few other "buggy" issues that are much more annoying (Navigation Voice commands stopped working, the Clock is now always wrong and the KWH info screen switches between Metric and American Units). From speaking to my Advisor it seems that this is a know issue that GM is working on.
06/04/2012 (1100) Order placed at dealership.
06/05/2012 (2000) Order accepted by GM. Dealer used allocation to place order into production.
06/05/2012 (3000) Order accepted by production control.
06/13/2012 (3300) Order scheduled for production. Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle.
06/28/2012 (3400) Order Broadcast (internal plant paperwork order produced).

Thanks! I missed the other post, as the forum has pretty oor search capabilities. Seems I better wait until GM has fixed the bugs in the fix. A wrong date is much less of a problem than what you describe.. It seem to me that many 2013 Volts must have some of these issues. Like you, I love the car otherwise.

Robbert, You've probably already had this item fixed, but I had the same issue in my 2013 Volt, and it was solved after the dealership updated the radio firmware.
