Default Power Flow display not working...

I picked up the car a little under a week ago. The Power Flow display on the center stack worked until yesterday. Now when you press the leaf button nothing haplens for 30 seconds, then the screen is just black with a picture of the propulsion battery and nothing else. No wheels, combustion engine, flow indicators, just the propulsion battery.. Other two leaf screens seem fine. Anyone had this happen before?

Also, getting an intermittent "Service parking brake" message on the DIC. Time to go to the dealer. Oh, well, the first 146 miles were trouble-free...

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Definitely not normal behavior. I sincerely expect your dealer can sort things out for you quickly. I have over 8,000 miles and 9 months of driving in my Volt without a single error message.

welcome to the world of being an early adopter

I suspect you might resolve you power flow issue by doing a hard reset on the system. Someone else on this board has explained how to do this. They will have to hunt down the instructions.

I dont think it will fix your emergency brake. That will likely be a dealer issue.

Did you by chance use a USB drive in the center console, to feed music into the infotainment system?

If so, try removing it. I've experienced similar Power Flow screen wonkiness while the .mp3 indexing was ongoing.

Funny you should say that. The connection dawned on me finally that it could be USB indexing and I just got back from removing the USB drive before seeing this post. iThe USB drive indexing was indeed the problem. Since it only affected the Power Flow Display, I guess that display uses a lot of processing power or memory.

Glad that helped. (or rather, "would have" if you hadn't gotten there first on your own :-)

It definitely seems like the .mp3 indexing process could work a little more smoothly.

Update us on what you find out.

And haha, "early adopter" try flying to NJ to buy one of the first cars a month after they come out! :P THAT's early adoption. I had some really weird quirks and no dealer support here.
