    Default Road Trip

I have to drive from Philadelphia to Cape Cod next month and was researching charging stations along the way on the afdc website. Has anyone used or had any issues with the Nissan Dealerships along the way; they line the I-95 corridor and the only restrictions seem to be business hours. Volt owners of NYC...are any of the charging stations free or on public streets, or is every station located in an hourly garage? I plotted 10 charging stations along the way, only the Conn/RI border seems to contain nothing for 50+ miles. Any help would be appreciated.

Why bother, the Volt doesn't need a charge and do you really want to lengthen your trip 5 hours every time for a charge to save a gallon of gas?

It depends on where you plan to be in NYC. If you stay over somewhere in Manhattan, most L2's are located in parking garages and you will pay to park and charge. In the outer boroughs, some L2's are free, but not easy to get to. plugshare and recargo are the best to research. NYC has many many years to go before L2's are on the street. Our current mayor is anti-car despite everything he wants us to believe.

If you stay overnight, you might chech with the hotel. I had good luck with medium/low end motels where you park right infront of your room (they gave me ground floor and I ran the EVSE to my room).

The time it takes to charge, even l2, is so long I'd only consider it for a meal (look for wallgreens then find a nearby resturant). Of course it does give you somethng to brag about.

    Look at plugshare.com
