Hello! Bought a Volt yesterday, then drove it home 8 hours from Stingray.

Thanks, CharlieO, for the great deal and being great to work with. He was friendly and helpful every time we spoke. I can't come up with any negatives, except I wish Stingray was my local dealer.

Also, thanks to everyone on this forum -- when I finally took a test drive last month, the only surprise was that the car was exactly what I expected because I'd learned so much here.

I have to work at getting my mpg back up after the long drive home (so don't expect to see me on VoltStats), but at least I can smile as it increases instead of facing gas anxiety.

What I bought: Blue Topaz with black leather (dark accents) and both Safety Packages

Congrats! Welcome. Just because your numbers aren't great doesn't mean you shouldn't be on Voltstats. Mine aren't great, either - I take too many road trips, and so I'm only getting ~85 mpg. It's still a useful tracking tool for me - and if only the best cars are on Voltstats, it'll cease to be useful as a picture of what the car does for average people (though it might be more in line with Fuelly at that point.)

Nice! Yes, my 1000 mile drive home did nothing to help my stats, but it was a great way to learn about the car. My wife and I took turns reading the owners manual and testing things out. It was actually a fun ride home. And isn't the ability to drive past the batter range as long as you need part of what makes the Volt special? It was one of the selling points for me.

Congrats on the car and welcome to the forum. No worries about the drive home. You just helped "break in" hour engine. You'll make up for that drive in short order.

Default Absolutely glad to have you in the Volt family. Week by week, you'll find...

Exceptionalism in the details of how this car operates, drives, functions, performs, and the efficiency of double that of a Prius. Fun to drive, feels like a powerhouse in Sport mode too.

Congrats! Join voltstats. I have many gas miles too, but Voltstats isn't just for those that drive mainly electric.

I love your color picks. I really need to consider trading my 2011 red one for a 2013 blue if I can make it work out. Nice thing is I'm only about 20 minutes from Stingray at work....

But I would only do it for another loaded one, and if I could keep my payment the same or so.

Good points. I did turn the drive home into a learning experience. I had hoped it would also rid me of any gas anxiety, but apparently that will take a little longer.

I used 0.07 gallons of gas yesterday because I drove more than twice my normal route -- I'm so ashamed.
