So where does it store the power? Wind is a intermittent power source. The Volt requires a constant source of 120 or 220 VAC to complete a charge cycle. If you interrupt power to a Volt during a charge cycle the Volt shuts off and delivers error messages. The Volt's current charging system cannot tolerate intermittent power sources like a wind turbine. I don't see enough room in the base of the windmill for a battery large enough to buffer a full Volt charge. Looks like this post should be on the forum for another brand of car that would be compatible with an intermittent wind turbine power source.

The idea is kind of appealing to me. I live in a Condo unit on top of a high hill where we have plenty of wind. My HOA will not let me install a Solar array. (Even though my state has incentive programs that would pay for the installation.) With this wind turbine I could place it on my balcony and collect enough power to charge my volt. Sure... It would look horrible on my balcony. But the HOA does not have much say over what you can place on my balcony. ;-) ("So you will not let me install a nice invisible solar panel on my roof? Fine! I will construct a HUGE ugly wind turbine on my Balcony instead!")
