That's one of the things that really gave me the confidence to but the Volt is the fact that I really believe that they worked extra hard to make sure it was over engineered for reliability and performance. I've always been, for right or wrong, a bit of a GM-a-phobe, but I'm not now. They really can make a great car. Now I understand what all the dyed in the wool oldtimers that go on about how great American cars are. It is cars like the Volt that they remember. Cars that innovated, that lead the world in design, cars that were cutting edge. It's great to see GM's back to making cars like this.

Cruze and Sonic and Malibu are all great GM cars. Volt is just another in a long line of great cars.

One failure and the lefties would have said "see, we told made in USA cars are junk". GM knows the anti-GM left would never give them a fair shake.

Um, what? Pretty sure it was Fox News running the 24 hour hate-fest on the Volt. Why does everything have to be political? This thread was discussing how GM engineered the Volt. Let's just leave it at that. Geez

Wake up and smell the roses. The left hates GM. has hated them for decades. FoxSnooze hates the Volt because of the welfare aspect. Of the Gov picking winners and losers with taxpayer money. And if you don't want it to be political, then why did you mention FoxSnooze?

I mentioned it because what you said is the opposite of reality. Government Motors didn't come from the left.

I will ask you again though, what in this thread necessitates bashing the left? Knowing that half the people on this forum are on the left, why is it necessary to bring up politics when people are talking about the engineering behind the Volt? What's to be gained here?

This is the first GM car I have ever bought. My first American car for that matter. The Volt is a game changer, and that's what it took to get my attention and my business. I voted with my dollars to reward innovation and do my small part to promote energy security.

I don't know that half are from the left. I don't know why FoxSnooze is bashed. I merely stated that a failure of the Volt would have been fodder for a group generically known as the "left" to bash another "crummy" car from GM.

    Don't take eveything so personally.

I voted twice, with two Volts.

It's not personal at all. I would happily have a beer with you. Just don't understand the need to express a political opinion in a thread that had nothing to do with it. Seems like that should remain in the politics forum.

But we've hijacked this thread long enough. Agree to disagree, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I thought it was thrice, with an 8kW array?
