Default EV Stations Layer for Nav System?

Amazing that GM included a layer of gas station pumps on the Nav system and did NOT include the means to show EV stations! When might that layer be "pushed" to our cars?

The way I've gotten around this is whenever I find a new EV station (Plugshare and Chargepoint apps) I add the destination to my Nav system and make the icon a little green gas pump.

Seems GM ought to figure this out and push it out.

Not going to get a $200 nav CD to test but can you add files to the disk (image) and re-burn it ?

As fast as charger stations are being added the apps and internet maps work well - AND we can add X number via download to the nav system. Some of The Apps also tell if the charge station is in use.

You can always Save locations as you find EV stations, with your choice of POI icon. Not the best, but better than nothing.

It is kind of amusing, they have every other kind of fuel station layer... Gas, Diesel, E85, CNG, etc. Maybe they'll add EVSE stations on the 2014's? ;-)

This is a common complaint and it really doesn't make sense not to show EV stations on a car like the Volt, it should be a no brainer. I use the IPhone apps, ChargePoint being my favorite. It will show locations, charge levels and availability. Until now, I've only used the free stations, hope this helps...

Trying to keep that current would be a nightmare for GM. I agree with other's and find the value of a smartphone APP a better solution.

As well what is the percentages of EREV folks that actually charge away from home? How much does that percentage drop when they start/are charging money for the charge?

This is much more critical for BEVs and you see it being a highlighted as a great feature. Of course with the ~70 mile BEVs that are out there I bet they typically are used as commuter cars and are just charged at home.

The cars are connected to the internet. It should be trivial for them to keep them updated. They can probably even get Blink/Coloumb/others to pay to have their stations added to the list.

A smartphone app is a distant second to having this functionality directly integrated into the NAV system.

I use the 240V charge station at school. No one has used it in a year until I showed up. In fact, it had faulted. Simply rebooted the breaker switch.
