Water in rear door sill

I'm having an issue which concerns me; the left (driver) rear door when opened after rain will drip water and show a puddle on the door sill. Feeling around the rubber seal, it's clear that the bottom 1/4 of the door's rubber is wet to the touch. I can't see any visible leaks in the door seal, and suspect it could be coming from the left-rear tire well. Te interior including the plastic door sill is perfectly dry, but the metal sill has a puddle. Just thought I'd check to see if anyone has had this issue and can recommend whether it is normal, something to worry about, and/or recommend a fix.

Hmmm...this was a common issue on 5 series BMWs (and would ultimately lead to carpet wetting, etc.). Rain water is designed to run down inside the doors (on most all cars). On the BMWs there is a water shield between the door and the door panel which would come unglued. The water would then run down the door panel onto the sills. You can test for leaks with a hose, etc.

I'm not saying there is definitely issue here, but just reporting a similar situation with another vehicle.

I think I'm noticing basically the same thing. Dirt stain(probably from dried puddles) on the door sill, on the downsloping part though.

Look at the bottom edge door. There are two rounded rectangular rubber gaskets, maybe 3/8" long. Are the flapper doors still attached or are they missing? Just curious.

I treated my door sills and frames with a polymer wax designed to repel water, etc. Nonetheless, I thoroughly towel dry these areas each time I wash the car.

Same here. Even the hinge areas.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm having the same issue and I wanted to know if anybody had an answer to the OP.

Also, I looked for the rubber gasket mentioned by Steverino and the flaps (with an arrow printed on it) are still there. I've attached a picture of the gasket, sorry for the quality, it was dark outside, but I think it shows the gasket well enough to see if this is what we are talking about.

With the cold temps (freezing...) coming quickly, I don't want to be stuck with some ice forming in my door sills an breaking some rubber gaskets.
