    Default New Volt Owner

Picked up a 2012 yesterday - base model, black on black!

Still learning the ropes on it, but it's been great so far. My wife went 15 miles on it and the battery was still indicating 33 miles to go - seems either super optimistic or she drives with a REALLY light foot.

Anyway - some pics are here - though I'm sure it's nothing new for folks on the forum:

It's my 11th car, but certainly the most interesting one so far!

Welcome to the club! Nice driving on your wife's part. I have had mine over a year already and it still is fun to drive, every time. Best car I ever owned for making driving fun again.

As for the EV range that is about what I run in the summer, good part of the spring and early fall. In fact tonight I drove 31 miles and had 19 miles of range left, and that was with the A/C on (ECO mostly AUTO) too. So after over 22,000 miles I still get the same range as when it was brand new. The VOLT is a great car.

Always nice to hear a new owners comments!

The big mistake you've made is letting your wife drive it. Now she'll want to keep it as "hers", haha.

P.S. My wife also gets really great mileage.

Welcome and congrats.. you might want join voltstats.net and if you look there you can see daily distributions of many people. In summer most people get way above EPA.. You can both learn to hit 48+ In comparison summer days I usually get 48-50 miles today was 41 + 10 remaining.

Congrats on the car and welcome to the forum. Try using "L" and "Sport Mode". Makes the driving experience a bit more fun. Keep us posted and feel free to ask questions. Lots of knowledgeable people willing to help.

You have one of the best looking Volts in the nation! And welcome to this forum.
I'm very proud and excited about my Volt also, which is one of the best looking Volts in the nation as well and I would hope you would consider boasting about your Volt on Flickr (as I do) and telling stories by joining the group "Chevrolet Volt" on Flickr.
My Volt rocks (and stones) it really does!

This is my son's (OP) new Volt. He just called to say he is coming up to Jersey. He went 45.9 miles on EV before the gas engine kicked on. He is driving with A/C on (it's 87 degrees), headlights and wipers (it's raining). He is totally stoked about this new vehicle. I hope it proves to be an economical/reliable vehicle.
