Default U.S. House and Senate approve Kildee's electric vehicle recharging station bill

The U.S. House and Senate unanimously approved a bill to establish electric car battery charging stations in parking areas of the House of Representatives...

"Electric vehicles represent the future of the American automotive industry and their development and production are already making a significant impact on local communities in Michigan and in other states," Kildee said.

Another sign that electric vehicles are here to stay.

I remind myself that congress often grants itself special privileges. But here's hoping that this portends a change in attitudes about EV's and the Volt in particular. I note that "The project would not be paid for with public funds and House members who use the stations would be charged on a per-use basis." This likely why it was passed. No special privileges, just availability.

Yea our elected politicians get taken care of first, but maybe there will be some "trickle down" affect here. At least we can only hope some of our tax dollars actually go to us. Maybe we just found the real "one PERCENT'ers".
