The black painted roof is so hot in the sun down here I can feel it on the top of my head. I would much prefer it to match the white color of the body and reflect the heat of the sun away rather than absorb.

Agreed! Even my VW Eos (car I'm trading in as soon as my Volt arrives which should be in 2 weeks or less) is HOT with the top up. It has a glass moonroof plus the retractable hard top and with everything closed up, it's a sauna in there. Soon there'll be a new 2013 Volt accompanying you around Boca, Steve :-)

My 2013 Arrived at the dealer on July 25th in the evening. The dealer had it ready for pick-up on July 27th. I added the $115 option ($230 installed) alarm upgrade for the shock detector. Note: The alarm upgrade is not compatable at this time. The dealer attempted install but the software code has not been updated and can not be programmed for the 2013 yet. I was updated yesterday and the software DVD has been sent by GM to my dealer. By the way, there are several options for program update on MyLink so it looks like that aspect of programming is user upgradable - there is even a check for current software like on any computer.

The car is awesome, we are getting about 38-41 on charge per day - we live in a area with several steep up /down hills. The windshield is new for the vehicles with crash avoidance / lane departure for the camera. The standard wheels look the same as the 2012's but they are a new model?

For those who are not getting navigation, the Onstar directions use the screen and are voiced prompted using GPS so it's like having navigation and its free & unlimited for 3 years. The Love it or return it was a plus so we can make sure our volt was manufactured to perfection.
So what kind of kWh used numbers are you seeing on a full charge (i.e. when you run the battery to empty)? It seems some of the later 2012 cars were getting anywhere from 10.4 to 10.8 or so hours and there was some (unsubstantiated) conjecture that they might have received batteries with the 2013 chemistry.
