    Default Maintenance Reset Help

I received my OnStar Subscriber Services email today indicating that my tire rotation is due. I had the service performed this morning at a tire local shop (not at a dealer). I went to the link in the letter where it says I can update the maintenance record but cannot for the life of me figure out how I do this. I've been to both MyVolt and OnStar websites and cannot find how this is done. Help anyone?

Log into MyVolt.com and click on OnStar Diagnostics near the top of the page.

Then click on the Service Records Tab. You can then add the information.

It appears this is an area to store information only. Will the rotation be updated the next time I receive an email from OnStar Subscriber Services? It does not seem so.

It is used for you to update your service records...........Onstar can send you an alert for you to do the 'tire rotation' but they don't know when you had it done............once you have taken care of the service, you then add a service record to your file.

If you have the dealer rotate the tires, my guess is they will have one service rate for that and include resetting the TPMS; I can't see them telling you that we had to rotate the tires and then charge you $10. for resetting as a result of that.

Now, if you take your Volt in to have that specifically done because you rotated your tires yourself, then they probably will charge you for that service unless out of the goodness of their heart, they donate their service time to you.

You can set it yourself by releasing tire valve air pressure and then adding pressure back in again but the process is tricky and has to be done in a logical sequence (refer to part of your owners manual for that procedure but the manual talks about using a 'wand'). There is other information on this forum for doing the 'air pressure' adjustment.

When I had my battery fix done, they HAD to reset my tires as part of the CSP.
