Oh my! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I find the bumper to be appealing to a 16 year old. I like the hatchback itself up to the bumper - mostly around the tail light configuration and badging - but the flare outs on the bumper would make me feel like I had some cheap aftermarket conversion done on the car. I'm just going to assume there are neon lights attached to the undercarriage of such a car.

Just to clarify the dirt magnet aspect:
    DirtMagnet.jpg
Note, the big back window stays pretty clean, and the rest of the car almost spotless. This is after ~1/2 mile drive on a gravel road. Unfortunately, even rain doesn't wash this off, nor does it do much for the huge amount of dirt in the slot around the hatch seal. It doesn't get inside the car, but when you wash it, if you don't scoop (literally) a pound of dust out of the tracks first, you never can get it to stop dribbling down the car - there's an endless supply in that channel.

That's due to the aerodynamics. In many ways, it's a good sign. It means that the only way to improve the aerodynamics of the rear is to try to fit a full Kammback. And if people are complaining about a hatchback... wow.

This is SPAM. And bad SPAM at that. "Tell the 50,000 people who bought a Kia from one of our many dealerships" is next. Give it a rest. We DON'T want a freakin Kia. It's a disgusting brand.

What kind of Kia SPAM is this. Obvious pitch for a car no one here wants. Is this Kia panhandling or something!

I really like the rear of the Volt. It's very attractive, and unique - setting it apart from other cars. If the reflectors were illuminated, it would be perfect!

While that part could use daily cleaning, the rest of the car can go weeks...it's pretty strange.
Yes, I have the same problem with my black car. I can run through the car wash, wipe it down, and by the time I get home, I have to wipe off the back end again, because it will have attracted dust onto it. It must be the way the aerodynamics work, somehow it creates a vacuum effect at the tail of the car when it is driven.
