    Default time-shift radio?

I was looking over this link:

    http://www.chevrolet.com/content/dam...22738899_A.pdf

and one of the QR codes went to a video of the Volt's audio options which explained it has a DVR function while listening to the radio. Apparently you can go back 20 minutes while listening to the radio in case you missed something. Do you folks use it?

I love my home DVR and always thought it made sense in a car. Listening to NPR, I sometimes find myself wanting to go back for some detail I missed. (yeah, do I want to pay for the Bose "upgrade" when mostly I listen to NPR? sigh)

I didn't know the Volt could do this. It makes me wonder what else I'm missing. I checked out the Volts at my local dealer. A salesman offered me a test drive for up to 4 hrs this coming week. I think I might take him up on the offer. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, a cool feature I didn't know existed.

You can only go back as far as you recorded on this trip..

I use it all the time, but in a different way. I start recoding as soon as I leave work, then when I call my wife to say I'm on the way, so its recording during the call.. then I can skip commercials. I also use it if I get an incoming call. Going back to things I missed a bit in NPR is an occasional use but not as offen.

It's an option. I've used it in a few occasions while taking a call or talking to a parking attendant.

Be aware that this is not an option on 2013's though.

This is probably the only change between 2012 and 2013 that I was unhappy about. (I'm withholding judgement on the paint changes until I see a 2013 in person.)

When I'm showing off some of the "cool features" of my Volt I'll have the radio playing. At some point I'll say something like "oh the lyrics to that song are interesting / funny / [fill in the blank] ... let's hear that again..." then I'll go back "in time" ("rewind" part of the music).

It's pretty funny watching the expression on the person's face when the realize that the "live" music (AM / FM / XM) was DVR'd. Sometimes I have to "hey, listen to that lyrics again" ("rewind" the music AGAIN) until they catch on.

Just one of the standard features on my Volt :-)

Just like the DVD player. I also have a DVD that I created with videos I downloaded of the web to help show off features of the Volt. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a DVD video is worth a few more words.

Mine doesn't record SiriusXM only AM/FM. Question to anyone who can answer, how do you go back to live radio when you heard what you wanted to hear on the recording?
After all was said and done, more was said than done!
