    GM should call IBM again. The Volt software code development team used IBM's Rational which has excellent debug features (I know because I have seen it working when I was working with IBM Power5 and Power7 servers using AIX), so it can debug the code used at their web site and fix the counters. I hope that site isn't using MicroSoft code!
