Default Chevrolet's 'Total Volt miles driven' is going backwards.

Well, when we said that the amount of new miles going on each day seemed excessive, we were right. On 7/16 the total miles was at 98,970,879, on 7/26 the total miles was 114,280,234, on 7/27 it 120m, but it was 110m an hour ago (3pm 7/29) and it is down to 109m now at 4 pm. Something was messed up and they are fixing it, before the Volt haters start to bay about faked numbers and what not. Glad to see GM is trying to keep the numbers accurate.
And yes, I do like numbers. If they are accurate there is a certain clarity to them.

Not exactly the best foot forward. The counter is absolutely wonderful and I hate to see it messed up.

I wonder how (if at all) they're accounting for all the Volts and Amperas they sell in places without onstar, like Europe. Those cars presumably can't call to report in...

Ay idea what was wrong with the counter?

Hmm maybe that is why the numbers were wrong.. maybe they were doing something simple.. I noted the rate of miles was about the same at 3am and 5pm.. (hence not real miles). Maybe it they were using some type of vehicle average * number delivered / time.. ( but maybe accidentally included Canadian volts or something).

That would do it.........switching back and forth from miles to kilometers back to miles...........would screw anything up.

Website programming is not OnStar's strength. Perhaps the exact opposite. In today's world, a corporation like GM and its affiliates should have world class websites. They don't. I wonder if it's because they outsource to the lowest bidder?

They do a GET of a piece of XML that has 'current' and 'previous' and calculate the rate for the day.

Chevrolet's website is kind of interesting. They have removed a lot of the functionality that it used to have regarding VIN's, which was a near mortal blow to my curiosity. Now they have been selling 2013 Volts for quite a while and delivering them for more than a week, but they aren't on the website yet. They still only show the 2012 Volt. They got 7 different types of 2013 Corvettes, the 2013 Spark and the 2013 Malibu, but no 2013 Volt.
I am stuck with looking at Volts, and at Volt info, still. I had thought to pull the trigger on one of the 2012's while they have these incredibly cheap leases, but my condo has suddenly gotten mulish about letting me charge my Volt here. I am working on the owner of the building I work at, but no joy there, yet.

I request that you people stop driving the car backwards. It's not safe.
