could there be this many 2013 volts for sale already? I didn't think any 2013s would be available to after August.

They're definitely available now, as multiple people here have posted that they have them.
But I'd bet a majority of those are actually on order, and haven't arrived at the dealerships yet.
ITS is right, they are selling, but there haven't been that many delivered so far. Voltstats.net has only 3 of the 2013MY's out of the 1347 Volts that they monitor, and one of those was an early build delivered back in May or June, with more than 3000 miles on it already. So if almost 18,000 Volts have sold since December of 2010, and 3 of the 1347 Volts on Voltstats are 13MY's then 1347/18000 = 7.483% of the total Volts are shown. If just 3 2013's are showing then there are about 40 Volts that are actually in the wild if the ratios are consistent. I would guess, though, that there are a lot more than 40 2013's in the wild. I would bet that it takes almost a week for the cars to get into Voltstats, because we have been hearing about 2013's being delivered for a while.
And does anyone have a definitive date when Hamtramck re-started production? I think it was the 9th, so there has been time for those cars to get to dealers.

My car which is D3079 was built a week ago. So they have built close to 4000 2013's to date (They are building more than 1000 a week right now). I have been looking at 2013's listed with pictures to see which ones have been delivered (as some dealers post orders that are not on the lot yet). I have seen cars with a VIN in the upper 2000's being delivered. Mind you I have also seen dealers post pics of other cars in the place of a car on order so this might not be 100% accurate.
7 August 2012 - 2013 Volt - D3079 - Blue Topaz Metallic - Pebble Beige Cloth - Comfort Package and Safety Package 1 came home.

We have two 2013 Volt's in stock right now. All 2013 Volt's currently at dealers are mostly all base models. They are holding all built Volt's with NAV for additional quality control. According to Paul Racioppo who is the Regional Distribution Specialist for GM, they are expected to be released by 7/31.
Hmm... I ordered a full-loaded model with Nav/Bose, Safety Package 1 & 2, Premium trim, etc.... this might explain why my TPW of 7/23 got moved to 8/13. Needless to say I'm very disappointed. Kinda like mail-ordering something and following UPS tracking for days only to find out that the package got "held" mid-delivery and will be delayed.
Well that burns. Half or more of the Volts have NAV, so the chance of seeing a record month for Volt sales just went out the window. Not that most of us expected a record month, but it is reassuring to know that GM hasn't lost the ability to slow down Volt sales. 20 months of practice and they are still finding new ways to sell less Volts.
Ok, now I'm confused. I called my VA yesterday (7/30) to check the status of my order and was told that my car was being delayed by 3 weeks - that the TPW has been moved from 7/23 to 8/13. This was followed by a phone call from my salesdude (per request) with similar info. I expressed my disappointment not only in the further delay, but also in that some of the current incentives might expire by the time my now-delayed Volt arrives. He suggested that there *may* be new and better incentives at that time but regardless, he assured me that "they would take care of me" when my Volt does arrive.
Flash forward to today (the next day). As usual, I began my day by obsessing over my impending Volt ownership. I checked my order status at the Chevy site (since the chevyconnects site is no long being updated, and today it says that my Volt has finished production and is being shipped. Guess I'll call my VA again today to see what's going on.
Anyone else have a Nav-equipped Volt on order with a TPW of 7/23 with a similar situation?
