You can unlock and pre-cool the car with the onstar app, but you cannot actually start it (so that it can be driven).

I had a similar issue one time where I started the car and had someone drop me off and drive away, without turning the car off. I had the key with me. The car kept going without the remote, but it couldn't be started again because I had the remote with me.

The dash says check TPMS and the right rear tire pressure will not read anything, keeps going on and off, some times one hour somestimes one day, transmitter has been replaced.

I am sorry to those people who are tring to help, the dealer found some error codes and replaced the Body Control Module not the TPMS
then had trouble reprograming the system. the TPMS still does not work on the right rear tire.

Wait. Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly. They replaced the Body Control Module, but they did not replace the actual tire pressure sensor in the right rear tire? I would have assumed the problem was the sensor first (which is also the cheapest to fix).

Are you saying that the 'remote start' function on www.myvolt.com will not allow you to drive the car after it has been remote started.?

No need to answer this question, I have tried it and 'remote start' only turns on system to control cabin temperature, does not allow you to drive car, in fact, it locks all doors if they were not locked to begin with..............What a smart system.

That's correct. The displays are dead, and the car can't be shifted out of park. I think the main power inverters may be live, since it apparently is permitted to start the engine in extremely low temps or with a discharged battery, but it is not really starting the car, just a mode for preconditioning the cabin.

Mine does this all the time, right rear also. I have new wheels and tires and purchased new TPMS so put it down to that. But it is the right rear, sometimes it goes days without the problem and sometimes it happens 2-3 times on the same trip

Yes right rear and yes they replaced the transmitter first, that didn't work either.
mine will work some time and not work sometime seems we have the same problem.
I will post here when and if the dealer finds the problem, i told them to just leave it, but now they really want to find out what is causing this problem, and they give me a loaner when I have to leave my car

This is very interesting to hear that I am not the only one with the TPMS problem. I have been fighting with my local dealer and also with Chevrolet since I had the car. After three trips to the dealer, they concluded that my window tint is causing the problem and have refused to look at it any further unless I remove the tint. I tried to tell them that the TPMS did this before I had the window tint installed and it is a non-metallic tint, but they won't help me. And neither will my Volt Advisor, Kimberly, who wrote the following:
"We have been informed by engineering that window tinting may affect the TPMS. I would recommend driving with all windows down, and seeing if the problem occurs. Also, you may be able to test your key fob to see what kind of range you are getting when you try to unlock your doors. This may be able to tell us more information.

I am still awaiting verification as to where to go from here, but I was not informed of your concern until 5/23 and you had the tint installed on 5/17. Since we cannot verify repairs or problems with the TPMS before the installation of the tint, we cannot possibly determine the problem until the tint is removed. The dealership has replaced both the receiver on the vehicle and the sensor for the tires. I am not saying that the tint is the whole reason for the issue, but any after market accessories make diagnosing the Volt pretty hard. Until I get more information, my only recommendation is to remove the tint.

We will be glad to work with you until the issue is resolved.
    "
Of course rolling down the windows does nothing to prevent the problem as it has happened many times with the windows down and my key fob has the same range as other Volts.

The three of you should definitely hash out the details/differences between your three Volts. If this problem is happening with three different cars, chances are low that it is a coincidence.
