These are very cool. I think on the main discussion page you mentioned you used a wireless Bluetooth OBD2 and Torque, right? This is really a super nice presentation of real time data.
Would be great if you could add a video similar to the last one in that SOC and average l/100km (or mpg) was included. Day time or nigh time wouldn't matter.
It would be extremely interesting to see these variables shown in actual use during CS mode.
I'll do that next time I find the opportunity. Above videos were made driving the test Ampera. With my Ampera, I've driven 900km so far, but only consumed 2 litres of gasoline. Maybe on Sunday, when I have a longer trip in plan :-)
Here you go (please disregard the fuel consumption numbers as I haven't had it calibrated):
The Torque gives you an option to adjust it's calculated value to the real consumption. Let's say I fill the gas tank to the full, then I drive 300km and I fill it back again to the full. Torque says I consumed 30 litres of gasoline, but when I fill the gas tank back again, it only requires 20 litres of gasoline to fill it up to the full tank.
So, the Torque app allows to adjust it's calculation with a variable, which in the above case would be *0.6666 and is implemented exactly for that purpose.
However, I haven't had the chance to fill the gas tank to the full, since I've done 1700km and consumed only 5 litres of gas and I'm still driving on dealer's gas :-)
This was our consumption on the trip, driving in Hold Mode for the whole trip at GPS speed of 130km/h - so, purely on ICE:
The fuel consumtpion picture is a link, because the picture is to big to post it here:
This is an article my journalist friends did about an Ampera. Since you can't read my language, I can only recommend watching the video at the top of the article.
Do you like it?
Hm should be able to calibrate from a single run of the engine using actual gas used (don't need a full tanks. Since I can see details via voltstats.net.. next time I need to use gas, I'll see if I can get a torque calibration. For that matter just using the data from the center console on a CS mode trip should be enough.. miles and gallons.
BoultVolt Red 2011 #3745. More freedom than electric.
Personal best, 82.1 miles on one charge.
