Welcome to the forum. Lots of members don't (yet) have a Volt, though their numbers are dwindling! LOL No problem with not owning a Volt at all.

I will say that depending on the number of miles you put on your car and your ability to take advantage of the various programs a Volt might not cost you a lot more than driving and maintaining your BMW. You might want to run the numbers.

And gas/money are not the only reasons to get a Volt. As you will hear from many people that have one or have driven one, the Volt is fun and you will love the way you can drive without shifting gears or feeling an engine clank around with the controlled explosions of an ICE.

Welcome! I don't have one yet either. I have a 2013 on order, waiting for it to be built. The forums are like my appetizer while I wait for the main course.

I have been driving for 35 years. I have owned Audi, Toyota, Mitsubishi, BMW, Ford, Honda and GM cars. (Actually I have owned three GM cars.) In my experience GM has the BEST customer service in the industry. The is especially true with the Volt because you are assigned a personal "Volt Advisor" by GM.

With most cars you get as much service as the dealer wants to give you. With GM the MANUFACTURER actually answers the phone and speaks helps customers too! (Try that with Audi and see how far you get...) I am not saying that BMW, Toyota and Honda don't make a nice car too... But those other manufacturers don't stand behind the product in the same way GM does.

The Volt is a great car and it has a great company backing it up.

Ok, I have had my Volt for almost a month now and do truly love the way it drives and handles. I too have a question from the above post. When it says you have a personal "Volt Adviser", how or when is that done??? I have yet to hear anything. Is it only when you need a repair or something??? If so, I hope I never need to know this person...

You should hear from them shortly after you buy the car - probably right about now. If you need them for something, there an 800 number, and they also monitor these forums. (For technical questions, we also have a few GM engineering/technical people on here, though they are sometimes limited in what they're allowed to say.)

I think your mistake is one of causality... Buying a Volt doesn't cause (or permit) one to join the forums. To the contrary: recent studies suggest that joining the forums (or taking a test drive, or doing an unbiased financial analysis) is frequently responsible for unsuspecting citizens buying Volts!!

You've been warned - enter at your own risk. We take no responsibility for any EREVs that might appear at your doorstep after prolonged exposure...

Hi and welcome to the forum new here as well, so I hope we get along. Haven't ordered a volt yet coz I'm a little low on cash lately. I too stalk this forum to know more about the volt as I ready myself in getting my own.

Well , if you think you cannot afford the Volt , you might be surprised . I also thought it was out of reach until I drove off the lot last month with a $336 payment .

    My Honda Civic lease is $245 + $120 gasoline = $365

    My Volt lease is $336 + $2 gasoline and $25 electricity = $363

Best full gallon of gas - 48.8 Mpg.

    Thanks for the welcome everybody!
I just moved to Fl. and got some new insurance today. Orlando is not only cheaper than Denver was, but I also checked the rates on a 2013 Volt. It would go up by $112 from my BMW. Not bad for a car that's 12 years newer.

Do they come in British green or hunter green?
