    Have had friends who have "rented" their very classic and special cars for the movies with the provision that they be present at all times after being told specifically what the script calls for regarding the car's role.

    Will personally leave the traditional rental to the multi-billion dollar corporations that underpin this industry. It's all business MBA 101 to them.

    Not sure what the incredulity is about - one has to be careful, but it can work, especially in certain communities (tighter-knit, safe, urban, etc.). I probably would if the car were solely mine (but it's not).
