    Default NO More GM Connects

Just when I start tracking they pull the plug

    To All GMConnects customers -

We regret to inform you that we have decided to temporarily shut-down our service due to a technical issue. In order for us to continue the service as we have in the past, we were required to change our data source. This would mean added resources that we are just not willing to commit to at this point. The service actually has much more functionality then what was made available and a new data source would negatively impact the applications architecture.

We also want you to know that we will shortly begin discussions with General Motors about making GMConnects a permanent service for all GM customers. Thanks to the literally hundreds who have sent testimonials regarding our service - your feedback will be forwarded to the appropriate folks at General Motors during our negotiations.

In the meantime, please contact your dealer or GM customer service department at GM 1-800-222-1020 for your updated information. We will still be available to answer any of your ordering questions. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to have our services restored in the near future.

    Your GMConnects Team!

Dat sux. I'm at 3400 and my TPW is next week, so now is when I really start to obsessively check my Volt's build status. *sigh*

GM/Chevy has a order tracking page. Does not provide the same details as GMConnects though.

    Try: http://www.chevrolet.com/order-tracking.html

I am sorry we had to stop the service but I assure you all, it is far from done. As we had explained in our email, we are planning to begin discussions with GM about the acquisition of licensing of the service. Yes Jack Phillips there is also a technical issue which requires a substantial investment however we are not going to invest in something which we may have to remove a few months later. Also Mr. Jack Phillips, the data came from GM so if you do have issues with the accuracy of the data, I suggest you take it up with them.

That's good news. It was very helpful to me when I got my Volt. I was tyring to co-ordinate the delivery while in West Africa, and it was great being able to check on the status from Sierra Leone and Liberia.
