I take a little satisifcation that if my party (the Republicans) don't get their heads out of their rears, that the Chinese will get the EV movement going, with or without us. Ultimately, if a powerhouse like China embraces this, it is only a matter of time before we have to do the same.
China copied the USA for the last few decades. Maybe we can start to copy them? If we don't do it on purpose, we'll have to do it in a more reactionary mode down the line.
I wonder if there is a "Rush Zhinghaugh" over there talking down their EV efforts?
Japan is moving quickly in this area too: http://insideevs.com/efficient-cars-...pan-us-next-2/

China's program have been dismal failures so far, their copycat EV's and their batteries are not at par when it comes to safety and reliability. It is only a matter of time before they get it. One thing nice is that they can shove the program down the throats of company executives, so it will be a huge success, guaranteed or the firing squad. Either way, it helps alleviate global warming.
