    Default SERVICE THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM

    When I started my vehicle yesterday a "SERVICE THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM" error message appeared on my instrument cluster. When I shut the car off and restarted it was gone. Anyone have this happen before?

    Man I hate it when people steal my theft deterrent system..



    Never hear of that that error before.
    did it through a code that onstar could read?

    Its telling you to service the theft deterrent system. Get OnStar go read the code.
