This is a baby step, but a step in the right direction nonetheless. Will wait and see on this one, on average it's $15-$55 to park daily and $180-$450 for monthly parking, fairly sure the lots will make you pay to park and charge, so either I'm desperate or just convenient. I think the city is better off setting aside dedicated EV parking and charge stations on the street than in lots. We have a looong way to go IMHO.
Um, why would they do this?
In NYC, you park all week and possibly drive on weekends. A 120V wall socket is just fine. Unless you are a taxi driver or are one of the rare few who drive out of NYC to work in NJ or on the island somewhere. This seems weird for NYC.
Plus, if you drive around Manhattan, you only need a few kWh.
