Default Keyes L.A. 2011 CPO Volt...Loaded Viridian Joule, Black Interior, 13K miles, $35K...

Rick Alpern (General Manager of Keyes Chevy Van Nuys, CA) emailed me this morning and wanted me to relay this info to forum members looking for a clean certified pre-owned 2011 Chevy Volt.

It is a Viridian Joule 2011 fully loaded Volt with black leather interior, with just under 13,000 miles on the odometer.

    MSRP: $44K
Keyes Selling price to local NON-FORUM MEMBERS: $40K plus fees.
Keyes VOLT FORUM MEMBER PRICE: $35K plus fees!!!!!

Call or text Rick directly on his cell at: 818-231-1286 and make sure you tell him you are a VOLT FORUM MEMBER to get the sale price. You can also tell him you saw Shawn's thread.

If you or anyone else you know is looking to score a Volt and save thousands, give Rick a call!!!

    Here are some pics:

Sorry but for a Volt almost 2 years old with much less to offer than a 2013 and 13K on the odometer I don't see much of a deal there.
    Volt # C662 - White Diamond, Std Wheels, Black Leather/Dark Console, NAV/DVD, Bose Premium Sound (07/27/2011 - Produced; 09/20/2011 - Finally home!!)

The California market for Volts is much different that anywhere else. It is tough for a lot of dealers to keep them in stock and once they are gone, it's hard to get more. It will sell pretty quickly. They just took it in.

I have to agree Shawn, this is not much of a deal. As a used car it is ineligible for $9,000 in incentives (both the federal tax credit and the California clean vehicle rebate are for new cars only). This makes the $35 selling price almost the equivalent of the original selling price of $44K for this car when it was new. (the only savings being the lower sales tax and registration).

If anyone is serious, they can try and negotiate the price lower and list those factors to see if they can get it for less. $7500.00 Federal tax credit is a credit, not cash back.

Someone buying from Colorado also loses the $6K for buying used. So, to compete with the "buy it new" incentives, used Volts have to sell at about $33K minus about $2K per each 10K miles. Buying-new incentives are quite good. I'm picking up a 2011 Thursday which will incentive down (including using GM Card points + bonus points) to roughly $25K out of pocket plus taxes and fees. For 93 miles on the Volt.

Why does this Rick guy need relaying of messages - he can sign up for a gm-volt.com account too, right?

With 11,000 miles, I would assume that the car was registered and whoever registered it (the dealership?) collected the $7,500. In any case, compared to dealer/GM offers and tax incentives on new Volts, this is not even close to being attractive. On top of that, this car does not qualify for HOV lanes in California, right?

There are literally 200 Volts sitting on lots in SoCal - I know - I needed to go out of town last weekend when we were going to be Volt shopping and ALL of those cars we were looking at last Thursday are still sitting on the lots - still for sale. There is no 'special California' market for Volts where they are selling like hotcakes- if that were the cash dealers would be charging OVER MSRP for the car and we all know that if a dealer can get invoice they are doing really good selling that car.

Lets not forget that GM is essentially financing these vehicles for free - and there is a special incentives for dealers selling the car - last I heard GM through ALLY is paying the floor plan for the Volts and the Dealer still gets to pocket the hold back ...

A Used Volt selling for $40k is going to sit forever. Unless some rube comes along and is sold the car thinking he is going to get the tax credits - and is sold a bill of goods by his sales man.
