Once I change climate setting to re-circulate, I can't seem to find a way to get back to fresh air intake, display always show recirculate. Any ideas?

I believe you just push the same button again.
From Page 8-6 in the owners manual: h(Manual Recirculation):
Press to alternate between
recirculating air inside the vehicle
or pulling in outside air. When
selected, the touch screen button
lights up to indicate that air is being
recirculated. This helps to quickly
cool the air inside the vehicle or
prevent outside air and odors from
entering.
Pressing this button cancels
automatic recirculation. Press AUTO
or AUTOhto return to automatic
operation; recirculation runs
automatically as needed.
Manual recirculation mode is not
available when in Defrost or Defog
modes.

The Volt comes with an owners manual that has answers to many basic and not so basic questions about the operation of the car? What? When did they start doing that? Hahaha
The good thing about our ride back after picking up our Volt was my wife and I had a whole day to read the manual in the car. Of course, that was after I read it in PDF format before picking up the car. And I still crack the cover (or view the PDF) for details like this.
