Default Am I Charging battery too often?

I work from home and have the Volt plugged in more than 22 hours a day . Sometimes on days I don't drive it , it stays plugged in 36 hours straight .

Today I took 3 trips for a total of 20 miles. Is it better to plug it in after every short trip or wait until the end of the day ?

During the past 7 days , the battery was charged 14 times and I used 79 kWh . Is this type of usage harmful ?

    That's barely a charge a day, you're perfectly normal, I wouldn't worry about it .

The Volt coddles the battery through complete thermal management and limited SoC windows. So far, we haven't found much of anything you can do that's bad for the battery - and GM tested it quite extensively. I wouldn't worry.

Hard to count the charging times as the battery is charged each time you step on the brakes or run the ICE.

Would be interesting to know if the internal kW total counter (not the one on the display) is all power to the battery and not just charger cord power.

Definitely keep it plugged in. That will allow the thermal management system to keep the battery happy, especially with the high ambient temps this time of year in NTX.

Listen to all the advice, all is relevent. Does no harm to keep pluged in as the car determines when it needs to be charged or to run thermal management systems.

Definitely plug it in between trips. That allows the TMS to work if needed and you're always ready to go another 40 miles.
