Future Volts need some kind of "Valet Mode". I am retired and my wife and I go out to eat dinner probably two or three times a week. Most moderately priced restaurants both here in Reno and at our second home in the Palm Desert, CA area have required valet parking which I refuse to use because of the horror stories that I have heard. I usually drop the wife off at the front door (and any friends in the car) and go off and park the car on my own.

The last thing I need is to come out and find the car with a dead battery. Or worse yet, someone taking the car for a joy ride.

Sounds brilliant to me. I doubt that any new hardware is needed. Pure software. Purely useful.
