Way to many unknowns in the dumbed down power displays on the volt. I wish they had a mode were you could some of the detailed data the car collects without spending $600 on a DashDAQ...

For about $30, you can get an OBD2 interface that will connect to a laptop/netbook (or anything USB). I can see 1/4wH increments, even after getting back from a trip.

I'd guess its the recent heat wave in CO. The car estimates many things and that depends on Temp. So it may be recognizing it needs to use some of the battery to cool the battery, so it not available to use. And when you are charging, the TMS is running to cool it so depending on when you planned for it to finish charging it may also still be cooling some of the power.

Speaking of cooling, you can use the 240v charge station to precondition the Volt in the winter with heat, and in the summer with cool without drawing from the battery. That's the main reason I got the 240v Voltec. The faster charging is nice, but not a huge factor for me as the car charges while I sleep either way.

I only used 10kwh for a couple of months, then it dropped to 9.7 or so where it has stayed, temperature be derned...

I am having the same problem. Volt ad-vizors are idiots.
I am down to 9.6 from 10.1.... I am guessing its the temperature in the dfw area. range seams unchanged and is still about 44-48 miles per charge. 5300 total miles.
