Default Cleaning black lower bumper and black lower side cladding

I have a bit of dried polish on the black lower part of my Volt bumpers and black lower side cladding. Any ideas on how to get it off?

My routine Volt Saturday bath does not take it off, and household cleaner does not work either.

Armour All original protectant does a fairly good job, but still leaves a bit of the polish residue.

Any other products that you would recommend?

I've had good success with a product by Mother's called "Back to Black". I haven't used it on the Volt, but my Sportage had similar black cladding and it worked well.

How did the "polish" get there and what is it? Are you saying you applied some wax or other product, let it dry, and now can't remove it?

I applied Nu Finish car polish (http://www.amazon.com/Nu-Finish-Liquid-Car-Polish/dp/B000BPSW7C)to the painted surfaces, let it dry, and wiped it off. I was a bit sloppy and some of the polish got onto the black side cladding and black lower part of the bumper. I'm sure that some of you were also not very precise at the border between the painted surfaces and black surfaces! There is a faint gray-white haze on parts of the black surfaces.

Another idea for you is Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer. It takes 2 coats for it to work but it stays on well thru multiple washings and the plastic looks new again!! Our Volt (Baby) is all black and any wax residue on the plastic shows right up. Good Luck!

I use Mother's Protectant exclusively on the Volt plastics. VLR I think is more for the insides.
Back to black, I dunno if I'd use on that - maybe on the vinyl stickers on the door.

And as holland_patrick pointed out with the was remover, autogeek.net is probably the best place to get your car care stuff, hands down. I get most of my Mother's stuff there, especially the licensed towels and such. I was shocked last weekend by the Mother's Ultra Soft Drying Towel. I was able to dry the entire Volt (used a California Jelly Blade on the glass, though) with the same towel, as well as half of the wife's Equinox!!! I was SHOCKED! Dried the other half with a large microfiber car-drying towel.

Try tea tree oil in the spray bottle from Trader Joes.

I sloppily got some Mother's carnauba wax on the lower cladding without knowing it. A little elbow grease using water with a car wash detergent and a sponge with the rough surface for removing bugs was effective for me. Certainly safer than putting a lot of chemicals on it.
