I've delt with Discount Tire for a few years. Just stopped by and for $99. got the tire warranty from them. Includes repairs, replacement, rotation and lifetime balancing for up to 60,000 miles. And it is good at all their dealers accross the country. Cheap insurance considering in past 2 yrs have my other vechiles have had one tire cut and ruined, 3 nails/screws and one leak of unknown reason, not to mention all the rotates I've paid for. Now with no spare, nice to have some insurance.

Does their warranty include roadside replacement on the vehicle?

The only complaint I have with Discount Tire is when I need to get a tire replaced/repaired on a Sunday when they are closed. I have their warranty on my ranch SUV and have probably replaced close to a dozen tires for $25 each over the last 15 years.

Are all Discount Tire locations equipped and trained to do the tire rotations and TPMS settings on the Volt?

The short answer is Yes. I have been a customer of them as well for my past two vehicles and have always been impressed with their service and willingness to please. Yesterday I discovered a slow leak in my RR tire, sadly the TPMS displayed the low tire pressure in the RF thanks to the inept dealer I had my recent service bulletin experience with and had asked to have my tires rotated since it was there (another post, another story). So along with all the other disappointments they failed to reset the TPMS/tire locations. Well today I got the tire repaired (luckily in the center of the tread), although they were willing to do this for free I did pay for the protection package. It came to $92 likely due to only having 7900 miles on them. I did this because this is the second tire problem I've had with the first losing one to a sidewall gash. Interestingly, America's/Discount Tire's price for our tires retail at $157 and the dealer had charged me $206 back when that happened. I mentioned the TPMS issue when I was getting ready to leave and they told me they could take care of that as well and did in 5 minutes. I watched him. Simple if you have the "learning tool" referenced in the manual. I too now have a bit more peace of mind for the remaining two years of my lease. True, they would likely have to order a tire should one be a total loss but my crappy dealer doesn't carry one either and had to order it. Too much to ask to stock ONE tire for Volt owners...

Another great thing about Discount for farmers, ranchers, homeowners, is they'll fix all kinds of tires, usually for free. I've taken lawn mowers, motorcycles, tractor tires, etc., in for patches and never been charged. They're also a quick in and out to check air pressure in cars without TPMS.

Thanks for the tip guys. My warranty was $92. The invoice lists the tires to be $140. I only had 1 tire replaced in 10 years, and it was with them with a warranty. I believe I will have to pay tax on top of that plus another warranty for any new tires.

From my experience on replacing the 1 tire. Although, I had 1 unrepairable puncture, I only got 1 new tire in the replacement. Since this was a new tire, it did not match the other tire, so I had to purchase a new tire to match it. The repair was not completely free, but "half off of 2 at regular price".

Just don't let that surprise anyone. IF anything, if that happens again, you can use the old tire as spare--but, you will need a wheel to go with.
