    Default iPhone Onstar app

My app quit working on the 20th of this month. Finally called onstar this morning and talked to tech. After about 10+ min. it was supposedly fixed. 2nd call and a 3rd call for a good hour and still no luck. Now they bumped me up the ladder to higher tech and they will work on it and get back to me. I also know Volt stats don't work, green charge etc also don't work but I did get a diagnostic report this morning. Anybody else have this problem and did you get it fixed? This is just one of the reasons why I have never renewed Onstar on any other car I have had. As stuff never works right and I spent to much time getting things to work.

Mine quit working a few weeks ago, and I called Onstar during business hours during the week. A tech cleared out the corrupted data within about 5 minutes, and the app (and myvolt.com) have worked fine since. Of course, that's all relative, because it's still the slowest and most unreliable app I've ever used.

Has always been slow and I've had it on a number of vehicles. You'd think after 3 tries they could get mine working.

Same issue here. Stopped working about 2 weeks back. Called OnStar and they reloaded software twice...nice to sit in the car and wait 7 minutes each time...no success. Still getting "216" errors and they are clueless. Escalated the issue on Friday and also called the Volt Advisor team. Advisor said they would escalate from their end as well.

The first OnStar rep said she would extend my contract, but I told her it's leased and 3 years is included already. So she offered to add 100 minutes to the calling and extend them for a year. I said "OK", but I really just want it fixed. So as you might expect, it's not fixed and I didn't get the "bonus" minutes either. I've had OnStar in my Yukon since 2003 and it's been pretty good, but no special features like we have with the Volt. For awhile I even had my OnStar phone tied to my Verizon family plan, that was the best deal going, but they killed it.

So if anyone gets a good solution, please advise. I'm guessing that one day they will figure out the problem and we will all get fixed at once, until then, it's hit or miss whether any of us have a working app and all features that we paid for. Another week of this nonsense and I will escalate within GM, after all, they sold this to us.

Can you explain "quit working"? Does the app start and just not retrieve your information?
Sorry if i'm underestimating your skill level in tech, but have you tried a hard reboot of the iPhone? (Holding down power and home)

Also have you tried removing the app and re-installing? (Tap and hold on app, Click X on app when its wobbling)

My charging status stopped updating 6/19.

I get an "Unable to update charging information" from the myvolt.com Internet application when I ask for charging status.

The OnStar smartphone app gets the "Unable to refresh data" message with a 216 error, whatever that means.

Voltstats.net also stopped getting new data on 6/16.

I worked with OnStar for several hours on 6/21 but they could not fix it. They bumped it up a level and said that I should hear from them in 3 to 5 days.

Anyhow, I just checked myvolt.com, the OnStar smartphone app, and voltstats.net, and they are all working again!

So, it looks promising that your problem will be fixed, if it is reported.

I get all the same errors that are reported in this thread. It eventually works for me if I am persistant enough. Very unreliable. I would say it works 20% of the time. Mostly I am just checking the IPhone app or MyVolt.com for the novelty. I too wish they would tighten it up. I don't even bother to call OnStar to report the probelm because, in my case, it just seems to be a regular "feature" of the service. I certainly would not depend on it to perform a task that I really needed to happen.

I recommend that you call OnStar and make them fix it. Otherwise, you practically ensure that nothing will get fixed. My problem was fixed after I called.

I was polite and worked with them, and they acknowledged that there was a problem. Nothing will get better if everyone accepts mediocrity.
