Red face Ordered a 2013 today

Been seriously looking at the Volt since about April due to a change in employment. I was dead-set on blue, and the half-dozen 2012 units available didn't have the options I wanted. (This is my first new car, I want it my way)

A few days back I stumbled across the spec sheet for the 2013s. Had my truck in the shop today for routine service, started chatting up the sales rep. Probably spent an hour and a half before he took my deposit and shook hands. Pricing wasn't even available in his system, had to go "old school" (his words)

Anyways, the 2013 builds are supposed to start next Monday (June 25th) Here are my RPOs:

    GTS - Blue Topaz Metallic
AFA - Jet Black Cloth / White console
    V7X - Rear camera / park assist
V7Y - Front park assist / collision alert / lane departure
PCM - Heated seats / leather steering wheel
    UHQ - Navigation
    UQA - Bose speakers

    MSRP: $47,120 (CDN)
    less $5,000 provincial EV incentive

I was told 3 month lead time. The only thing I'm disappointed about is the fact that you can't get a black console with the cloth seats. I'm hoping that I might be able to swap out the white bezel in the future.

Nice. I'd prefer the darker bezel too. Shame we don't get the 0% financing.

Congrats on the 2013 model. Very exciting to see another year of the Volt. FYI, check out Voltstats.net, because I just noticed the first 2013 registered on the website (s/n 00013).

    @ Rampage_Rick:

First, welcome to gm-volt.com and congratulations on your 2013 purchase - you're the first person I've personally heard of who's ordered one! (And nice avatar by the way - bite my shiny metal ass!)

I have to ask, which dealership did you go to? When I bought my Volt in December 2011, there were only a handful of them that sold the car, and most of those didn't seem to know very much about it. (I ended up going to Eagle Ridge GM in Port Moody - where I was the one giving the sales person a primer on the Volt - but it was the only dealership in the province that had the base model I wanted.)

    @ Rampage_Rick and Voltastic:

I'm not sure when they're going to start offering the 2013 version, but this site offers replacement dash kits in 40 different colours and finishes for the 2011/2012 models.

Congrats on the purchase/order on a 2013 Volt. It's common in the Corvette community to change out the center console, to body colored (that's what I did on my 06 Crystal Red with Cashmere interior) and to Carbon Fiber on my 2007 Atomic Orange Z06. GM made it real easy to do with simple hand tools and connections.

I'm hoping they did the same for the Volt. In any event the wait will be worth it.

Here's to miles of EV smiles once you get your new Volt.

You can actually get heated "cloth" seats?

Yes, heated seats are included with the leather trim package and with a separate "Comfort Package" for cloth seats. This was new for 2013.

    Congrats!

I too have a 2013 on order. A blue one as well (see my sig). Mine is set to be built week of July 23rd.

My dealer just got pricing yesterday. You can build and price on autonet.ca which also has Canadian pricing. MSRP for my car is $44,815.

http://www.autonet.ca/seenewvehicled.../modelId/25118 click price it with options. If it gives you an error like invalid trim go back and keep trying it does eventually work.

Also the website carsaver.ca it shows you dealer invoice pricing. You can build a 2013 Volt on that site with Canadian pricing but the invoice price is not yet available.

I too have ordered the comfort package with heated cloth seats. A nice option for us Canuks in the Winter.

Edit: I ordered the Pebble Beige Cloth seats which have the dark centre stack. The Black Cloth only comes with the white centre stack.

Congrats on the car. I'd think the heated seats are a must for colder climates. Heck they're nice where I am and it's rare that the temps go below 40F (we consider 40F below freezing BTW). My guess is that once you're enjoying your car you won't even think about the white console, though I like the darker colors as well.

The wait might seem long but it will go faster than you think!

The dealer finance rate for the Volt was 5.75% I believe. The lease rate was rediculous, over 8% (highest for any GM vehicle, I checked) I've got until delivery to arrange financing, I'll probably go through my credit union as I've always got good rates from them (I'm currently paying 4.74% on my Seadoo, with about $2k to go) Once invoice pricing is available I'm sure there will be a bit of wiggle room at delivery.

I was a bit concerned that the $5000 credit might disappear before I complete the sale, but then I read this:
"From December 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012, an allocated amount of $2,275,466 will be available for CEV Point of Sale Incentives. From April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013, an allocated amount of $4,587,734 will be available for CEV Point of Sale Incentives."

I ordered through Mertin's in Chilliwack.

I've been interested in the Volt for some time, and I've been bugging the sales department for at least 8 months asking when they were getting one to test drive. My biggest concern was if I could cram my 6'5" self into the thing. I finally got to sit in a Volt at the BC Place auto show at the beginning of April, so I started asking more questions at the dealership. I ended up with a great sales rep (Wayne V) He called me up the day they had a 2012 Volt delivered (about a month back) and the very next day I got to test drive it from half-charged to empty. (I had an earlier chance for a test drive in Langley the day after the auto show, but their Volt wasn't charged)

I've never been a fan of leather seats, so the cloth was a given. The perforated leather in the 2012 isn't as bad, but I believe they've eliminated the perforations for 2013. I figured there would be some easy way to fix the white console, just like TeV suggested above.

Aside from the white stack, my only other quibbles are the 6-month Onstar trial (US gets 3 years) and the XM radio (I already have Sirius in my truck)

I'm already planning to buy a Level 2 charger from Home Depot (this one or this one) and then apply for the $500 provincial credit. Unfortunately you can't get the credit for a Level 2 unit from EVSEupgrade...
