    According the the making of the Volt coffee table book, the dashboard/front panel was fast tracked and didn't receive as much design time as other parts of the car. IMHO, it shows. While aesthetically pleasing, the design has many functional shortcomings which probably would have been addressed if they had more time. Unfortunately there is now a fight against inertia to change what currently sorta works. How much will it cost to move the vents and will more Volts be sold because of that change to pay for it? It matters to me but a new buyer probably won't notice.

    Still, I'll put it on my wish list and hope that when Voltec 2.0 is released the design will include vents that blow on people, not steering wheels. (and a knob for fan speed)

    As another Arizonan, I second Solar_Dave's experience. I almost never use Comfort, even over 110F, and pre-cooling is a big part of that.
