It does not in my car. I always use ECO and auto together and it stays on ECO.

I believe the auto button on the console works this way. There is also an onscreen auto for just the fan.

I dug through the menus and found that setting. It looks like we just have Low/Med/High settings for the fan in Auto mode. Switching it to medium was much better noise-wise but as you said, it takes longer to cool down.

I'd really like to see the vents moved up several inches so they clear the steering wheel. (There certainly is room for this.) This would significantly improve air flow help the car cool off faster so the fan doesn't stay in hurricane mode any longer than necessary.

I answered your post on this before; there are multiple levels for the fan speed. You can adjust them through the touch screen or use the "fan up" "fan down" buttons.

Nope, it just goes to auto in whatever mode you're in. It does switch the recirculate mode back to auto though

I think he means more, smaller increments of fan speed. Frankly this is a control that really needs a knob you can twist, not a button you have to poke several times.

Everyone wants something We're really happy with the smoother dash and lack of knobs.

We've pretty much surrendered to the fact that the driver has to use one of the passenger vents to get any cooling. (Other than on her hands.)

I do hope that GM will consider updating vent locations in the future.

Ditto from me on changing the vent locations! I also think the vent louvres are too shallow, so the air separates when you try to aim the vent at an extreme angle (like when I aim the passenger-side vents at me, as wel as the far left vent). This means the general airflow direction doesn't always match where you aim the vent.

I don't know why they don't have the vehicle exterior aero/CFD guy also design good interior airflow...

It would also be great to have driver-selectable rear vents, so I don't have to blast A/C for my back-seat passengers when I really want to keep the system in ECO. :-) That and/or the ability to cool the seats.
