I could see why you would be very bummed. In a month, you will be one HAPPY person tho. Really incredible car plus you get the boosted mileage with the 2013.

Still hoping. Still frustrated with GM's management of the Volt, but they do build a good car.
I'm guessing a record month. The MNL forums have post from the CA folks about the TV advertising of the Volt and HOV access. There are youtube videos about it as well (TV interview, etc).
Little strange interview but gets the point across with loaded questions.

Why are they shut down now? Did they state a reason? Usually the 3 week shutdown is for re-tooling and performing updates to the plant for the next model year. It doesn't make sense that they built 2013 model year Volts, only to shutdown after for re-tooling and updates to the plant.

The auto industry traditionally "shuts down" for two weeks during the summer. (Usually in July)

During this time, the assembly line employees have to take their vacation, and plant maintenance skilled trades do repairs/upgrades/overhauls to the facilities.

But have they actually built any 2013 Volts? I'm highly doubtful. If so, it doesn't look like any have been shipped.

There is one 2013 showing up on voltstats. Do a sort by VIN.

Why do you have to be a jerk? I get sick and tired of narrow minded people always blaming unions.

I don't blame you for being bummed. So near and yet so far! If it makes you feel any better, many of us have been there. The good part is that the pain of waiting is temporary and the good part lasts a long time.

Agree that the union probably has nothing to do with this. My guess is that they shut the who complex down when they're retooling the line. Probably is just a cleaner process. But that's a guess.

I don't see a record month based on a single conversation for a single minute with a single GM employee about sales in a single state. My guess is like last month, maybe a hundred more. WAIT -- isn't this supposed to be in the "Guess Sales Thread"? LOL

It looks like GM has been building 2013's end of May early June as I have seen a new owner post a vin with 2013 numbers. The shutdown is being used to tool for the 2013 Malibu and for inventory adjustment.

I'm hoping my car arrives today. In repair for 3 weeks for a battery enhancement problem the selling dealer caused. Love my Volt, severe withdrawals.
