I got it. Didn't all Volts come with Onstar for free? I didn't think all model years had the same free time of use. My 2012 came with Onstar for three years. A friend of mine has a Volt too but he hasn't received the survey. I have not used Onstar yet but my friend has tried to use the Virtual Adviser for directions download from Google Maps and it hasn't worked.

Yes, the Volt comes with 3 years of OnStar for free.
2012 Tri-White metallic Volt all options except polished rims.
Traded in my 556 hp CTS-V for a car that has 400 hp less. Go figure!

The 2012s come with 3 years of OnStar, the 2011s get 5 years. Don't know about the 2013s.

I got the survey as well. It seemed to me to try to goad the taker into claiming that they liked the onstar service. I filled out the survey, but caught on to the pigeon-holing nature of some of the questions. I do not like onstars turn by turn navigation, and find it to be just barely beyond useless. I like having a working NAV system with a map that I can search on the fly for information. I would not even have bothered to turn on the onstar at all if it had not been for its need to work with the cars telematics and smart phone connectivity. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but bluetooth is gone for 2013 - forcing owners into using the onstar system for hands free calling. I also pointed out that I would not consider a battery only EV until technology catches up to give us a 400 mile range and the capacity to recharge it in minutes.

Bluetooth can't be gone for 2013, as the Volt comes standard with MyLink, which uses Bluetooth.

I told them that there is no point in having OnStar plot a route from EVSE to EVSE because there is no reliable national EVSE database. The DOE has at least two databases, nether of which is correct.

If they are getting $$$ for this (which they would somehow, or they wouldn't offer it), they will have a strong incentive to keep a very good up-to-date database. There are few enough charging stations that it would be trivial to have people call up the companies and double-check every once in a while.

Scroll down to the Volt. GM's asinine de-contenting demons strike again: http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...lineup-110083/

I really wish GM would quit doing this kind of crap.
