Emergency Brake Popping Noise

Ever since I did the "Voluntary Recall" on my Volt it makes a popping noise whenever I put the emergency brake on after driving. Has anybody else had this problem? The dealership changed out the motor in my emergency brake and now it makes the noise every time unlike before when it was sporadic. Sometimes it is so loud it makes you jump. I received an email from my "Volt Advisor" today and she said it's probably normal...this is NOT normal, this noise was not happening the first month I owned it and the two other loaners I have had to drive during the last three months never made this noise so I am not buying the "this is normal" crap.

Please any help or solution I might be able to forward onto my dealership would greatly be appreciated.

I dunno. Mine doesn't do that, but I didn't find anything especially helpful in the service manual.

I told them about this sound when I took mine in for the battery reinforcement also, but didn't mention these threads prior to it. So, they said they couldn't reproduce it and didn't find any issues. It wasn't happening for a few days after, but then it started again and has since. I will tell them about it when I take it in to them next. When that will be, I'm not sure.

I have the sporadic version. I don't think it's "normal", but given that so many Volts seem to have it, it's probably at the level of "probably harmless, but if it becomes a problem (beyond aesthetics) they'll tell us".
