I can do my own mounting and balancing as I teach in a high school automotive shop. I just hate to run my factory wheels through the winter. That's the only reason I wanted to purchase new wheels.

I only run snow tires, but I just use the rims every season. I suppose the only downside is the mad rush at the first snow. :-)

My dealer had ordered me some 16" steel rims that they believed would work but they ended up rubbing lightly against the brake caliber. We tested out a set of 3rd party steelies that had the same measurements as the GM ones and they did fit. The difference was the design/depth of the wheel between the lug nuts and the tires. Look up winter tires on the forum search function and you'll find the part #.
    Good luck

Personnaly, I'll mount the winter tires on the factory wheels and I went with aftermarket wheels for summer:

Steel wheel is the best for cold season and they are appropriate for driving in all kinds of winter weather. It's little expensive than aluminum.
