    Angry Bye GM-Volt Forum!

I don't know about all y'all but I can' deal with the outdated and annoying ads (pop up and audio) on the forum! I work in advertising and I hate them. I would never implement them, especially with a great crowd like this. You guys are too smart to fall for it (deploying blockers and whatnot). I am just quitting on premise, and I'm serious!
I have learned a lot from this site and I think I can coast thru the next year until I get my very own Volt.
You guys have been so kind and helpful to countless people on the forum. It really feels like I'm leaving a family. Just like most jobs we've had in the past, we are sad to lose the people, not so sad to lose the job.
I actually don't even know if my post will be shot down within hours of my posting, but if I owned this forum I would respect my members and let it lay.
In the mean time I will be mulling over the idea of starting my own website related to the Volt and/or the ELR, but I doubt I have the time or patience to get it right. I have also considered starting a crowd-sourced website where we can post hotels/businesses that let us charge our cars, etc.
In the mean time I will feed my current addiction with the new website, Inside EV's... and occasionally voltstats.net.
Have a great year everyone! I will check back in later just in case "someone" changes their minds. *doubtful*

The ads really are bad. The current owners should really look into this IMO.

I don't even know what adds you guys are talking about. I guess Chrome is blocking them sufficiently for me.

Geez guys. all you need is Mozilla with AdBlock.

I see NOTH-ING, as Sgt Schultz would say.

I'm using Chrome and it's not blocking the new pop-up ads. Everytime I go to the site, the home page is replaced by a walmart survey that I'm asked to fill out and claim a gift. There is another ad (today I think it was for Dodge) that is appearing in the middle of the page that seems to float and hide some of the home page content as well.

An unfortunate change for the worse - just like the 2013 Volt's body colored tailgate and roof IMHO!!

Make sure you have AdBlock installed, up to date and turned on.

Yup, firefox and adblock and I've never seen the first ad or popup here, ever (there's a setting to disable popups in firefox). As Google sells ads for a living, you can count on ad blocking on chrome to never quite get there.
Internet exploder? Nah, it's too dangerous to be allowed on a computer. A magnet for malware.

But you wonder - if it's as bad as everyone says (All I see is the odd post line that says "advertisement here") - why? It costs diddly to host a site with say iPower (who does mine). So little I renew 3 years at a time and it's like a nice dinner out for that long, unlimited bandwidth, free software etc. So, what does GM-Volt need all this money for? You only need the price of a good dinner every few years to do this.

I hadn't seen anything, and still don't see anything here on the forums (Chrome on OS X.)

After the comments here, I went back to the front page, and did see some rather substantial and annoying ads. Fortunately, I never see them because I just leave a tab open for the forums...

I thought the most offensive ones were gone but apparently not.

I didn't have any problem until about a week ago. Thanks for the info on adblock. Ray
