Default Alternate 110 EV Charger for Sale?

OK, I would like to know if there are any other 110 chargers available that can be used for the volt besides the NISSAN and VOLT one. If possible I would like the charger to be better equipped to handle lower voltage and not permanently trip.

Would like to be able to do 4A or 6A for those long circuits. Some charge is better than none.

If you are up for it you might try to build an OpenEVSE

    http://code.google.com/p/open-evse/

They can be programmed down to 6amp (even lower than the volt).

Nice discussion of it at priuschat

The low voltage trip is not just the charge cord, the Volts charger ( the one in the car ) won't charge on low line. If you have power issue, the best course of action is address that. trying to charge at 4 amp is comical, it would take about 24 hours for a full charge

Charging all the time at 4 or less amps might be strange but when a cloud passes under the sun or the wind slows or you have to time share several chargers.

There is a minimum threshold at which point the amperage is too low to push power into the battery. 4 amps might be near it, I don't know.

Well we know that a 1400 W charging rate (factory EVSE) is less efficient than a 3300 W charging rate. (Level 2 EVSE) In other words, you will use more kWh to fill up the battery.

What would the efficiency be for a 700 watt charge? Well, assuming a 10.8 kWh charge at 720 W you're looking at 15 hours minimum. I'd guess closer to 18 hours factoring in charging losses.
