Holden Announces Volt Dealers

Seems like the Volt launch in Australia is on track with Holden releasing details of the Volt Dealership Network.

"Holden Executive Director – Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, John Elsworth said each dealer has committed to achieve environmental accreditation and invest in new tooling and infrastructure to support Volt servicing requirements."

“Each dealer will also install a dedicated Volt charging station and invest in new tooling and training to ensure the highest standards of service for owners of Holden’s first electric car.”

That's good news for the Aussies, knowing Holden we may see some high performance mods on a Volt, but they need to plan long term. Having a single charging station in a dealership is not sufficient. Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring, MD where I bought and service my Volt has been in the process of renovating all of their facilities and they didn't install a single new charging station. The one they have outside is in a corner and constantly blocked. Mind you Sport Chevrolet is considered one of the higher Volt sales volume dealerships in the area.

And while on the topic, just to say it one more of the countless times, when Volts are in for service, dealerships need to get in the habit of fully charging them before the owner comes to pick up their car. I don't care about the complimentary crummy car wash, I do require my Volt to be fully charged so I can get home.

Hopefully new and current dealerships everywhere are taking a note.
