I don't believe the amount of regen should affect the kWh reading when ICE kicks in. I've seen my kWh reading decrease while doing regen, so the amount generated is accounted for in terms of SOC of the battery. The kWh reading should simply equal battery SOC when fully charged minus current battery SOC. I would guess that the battery SOC when fully charged may change from charge to charge, leading to a different kWh reading when ICE kicks in.

I've been getting 10.2kWh or less. I'm wondering how well does the battery hold it's charge overnight after it completes charging during the middle of the night, in other words, would I get more mileage out of it if I delayed charging so that it finishes right before I leave in the morning.

Basically the battery won't discharge that quickly. Not a measurable increase in range. I don't notice a difference after not driving it for several days.

That does help in winter, since the charging heats the battery slightly, and having it finish just as you want to leave means slightly less power used to heat the battery.
