I heard GM would being 2013 Volt production on July 9th.

Does anyone know when they will start production for the 2013 model year and/or when they will announce pricing?

production appears to have begun in at least a limited fashion on June 5th or 6th - the 181st car was apparently built on June 6th.

Hi everyone! This is my first post, but I've been around a while.

The first 2013 customer Volts were built June 6th and 7th (including mine!). Then the plant began its shutdown June 8th, and will be shutdown the rest of June (3 weeks). This means the next 2013's will be built the first week in July. They will collect all the cars together at the plant until they decide they like the quality and then let the first group go all at once (remember how the first 2011's were released in mid-December?). This will most likely be sometime in July.

Meanwhile I'm just about ready to pass out with excitement waiting for my crystal red Volt!!!! =) =)

Also, YES orders are open. So gets yours ordered right away before the floodgates open! I ordered mine right after they began taking orders in April.

Hi all, I am new to this forum. Thank you for all the great info here which made it easier for me and my wife make the decision to place an order earlier this week for a Cyber Gray 2013 Volt. Got a call back from the dealer with an order number today. So excited that I even bought the power extension cord on sale at Sears...but have no car to plug in... :-(

2013 Volt prodution has already started and my order has already been built. I have been stuck at 3800 for 2 weeks now waiting for shipping. On Chevy order status it states Production Complete.

Here is the history:

04/24/2012 (1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.
04/24/2012 (1102) Order entered via web.
04/26/2012 (2030) Order edited or modified.
04/27/2012 (2000) Order accepted by GM. Dealer used allocation to place order into production.
05/01/2012 (2500) Order preferenced. Order pulled to the production system.
05/01/2012 (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.
05/18/2012 (3100) Order available to sequence.
05/18/2012 (3300) Order scheduled for production. Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle.
05/30/2012 (3400) Order Broadcast (internal plant paperwork order produced). Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together.
06/07/2012 (3800) Order produced and vehicle is being prepared for shipping. For Cadillac, GMC and Buick customers, please contact your dealer or customer service for further updates as no further updates available at this time.

I am thinking it will arrive at the dealer in the begining of July, but I was told the end of June was possible.

If you are at 3800, you have a VIN. Can you tell us what it is?
