Default Keep the 30 GB hard drive. COMPLETELY hooked on the feature.

I thought the USB would prove more than enough. Nope, a total addiction to recording great tunes and burning MP3s off my old CDs. Great feature.

One day- when we get the service manual- we shall find this disk drive and like the light mods it too will be solid state.

I'm at Status 3400 in the Build Process for a 2013 Volt - I too am saddened about the 'hopefully false rumor' that the 30gig storage space and 'Record Feature' are gone -hopefully they are still there. I never thought it was actually a Hard Disk more like a Flash Memory Chip / card - an in-dash MicroSD Reader would be nice those are up to 64Gig now - but then the Rip CD to Flash would have to remain - as would hopefully the DVD Movie Player while in Park. I'd hope they only add things like the Nav with MyLink and things that Improve Features not Delete Features. Just my 2cents as I wait to advance in the Build Process to 'Volt Driven Home' Status.

I like the hard drive feature, but the radio is slow to index and slow to scroll.

    Suggestions are

Allow the creation of a play list offline and upload to the system.

If the hard drive must go, please put several USB ports.

It could be my imagination. But I really feel like the audio quality of music being played from the hard drive is superior to that of music being played via the USB port. The bass seems more full, at least.
