    Default Locked Compartment

Has anyone come up with a good option for locking valuables in your Volt? With no trunk and no locks on the console or the glove box, it would be a handy accessory. A company called Tuffy makes boxes I've used in a Jeep, but drilling holes in a Jeep is one thing...drilling into a Volt is another.

Pretty pointless IMHO, if the break into the car, having a locked box is one crowbar and 5 seconds longer to get the goods

Might be better if unlocked. Locked = more car damage as they pry and smash their way to all your gold bars.

Best not to keep valuables in your Volt, if the alarm and locked doors doesn't stop them, then a lock box surely will not...keeping valuable items out of sight is your best deterent..use the back trunk cover when parked...

As a victim of a burglarized Volt, I know keep everything out of sight and remove valuables when possible.

If they are small enough, you can hide things in the side compartment or under the floor in back. I have never thought a locked glovebox was any safer than an unlocked globebox, except if you had to use valet parking.

    MTN Ranger,
How did they break in? I had a window broken in a previous car. I was much more pissed about the broken window, since it cost a heck of a lot more to replace than the crappy stereo that was stolen.
