There have been previous reports of the silkscreen sticking to both the windshield and itself (when folded up) and self-destructing (only the logo, not the shade).
I don't know - I got a set of 3 (windshield and 2 side windows) for ~$20 at Costco that seems to work just fine. It folds up into an 8" circle, spring-loaded to expand out to a generic windshield size. I'm just not willing to spend $100 (ok, $80 from Allen - "GM Parts Man" here) to get a shade.

The aftermarket is clearly better in the first, where better is NOT sticking at all. I would presume that it's better at the second thing, since it was purpose-designed to fit the Volt windshield - if it's not, then it's a total fail. However, the last metric is the one that seems to be the goal of these things, and since you claim it's better, have you measured it?
