New Black 2012 Volt

There's a new shiny black Volt gracing the roads of British Columbia's sunnny south Okanagan. I must say the car is an absolute MARVEL!

I've driven sub compacts all my life (Hyundai Excel, Chevy Cavalier) so moving into the Volt was painless. More than painless...it's like a luxury car! My wife just purchased a pearl white Lexus 250 ISC and I must say the Volt holds up nicely against the Lexus' luxurious interior.

I prefer driving in "L" with Sport mode on. Again, coming from small cars with standard transmissions, I love the way "L" slows the car down without having to stomp on the brakes all the time. And the acceleration. WOW! I can actually feel being pushed back into the seat. In a matter of a few seconds I'm up to 50+km/h. Sorry Officer Doright...lol. It is pure "Black Velvet".

Now that we have Ying and Yang in the garage the world certainly seems to be a much better balanced place. Wave if you see me and Black Velvet on the road.

Congrats on the new Volt! I did the exact opposite of you... I went from a large powerful four door sedan into a Volt and haven't looked back since. Enjoy!

I also picked up my first Volt This week! I'm from Cali and I had to go to Vegas to pick it up, but I did... and I haven't looked back! (On a side note: Fairway Chevy gave me a killer deal and even picked me up at the airport. Damn strong customer service.)

If you see me, you should easily be able to recognize me as i'm in South Orange county, driving a black volt with a big grin on my face!

I'm afraid that won't really help us much - there seem to be a lot of those grins around lately. There's even a thread on dealing with it here somewhere.

Awesome. Do you drive to Vancouver at all? I'm quite interested in how the Volt performs on the Coquihalla. Coming out of Kelowna there is that big-ass long uphill and going in to Hope there is the long downhill too and all kinds of up & downs in between.
