Default First Dedicated Volt Charging Station Opens In Melboune, Australia

    Hi Guys,

Holden has opened the very first "Volt only" charging station in the country. Great work GM and Holden for making this possible.

    Thanks for sharing BlackVolt,

Loved my time in OZ. Looking forward to someday returning and driving a Volt with right hand drive.

Hmm as a person who has charged at Nissan dealers, and elsewhere I really hate to see it restricted to Volts. I think they need to just promote the technology!

Yeah I'd prefer not seeing (manufacturer)-only charging stations. That's not going to help anyone. General adoption is going to help the Volt more than charging stations like this.

Who knows what their regulations (gov, contractual, insurance) are though. Maybe this one must be Volt only.

I do agree that having different EVSE (and charging ports) for different cars isn't going to help anything. Our own fight in the U.S. over the SAE Combo and CHAdeMO could be a problem for a lot of station owners and builders and won't help EV grow.

Hehe. I doubt there is any regulation. I also bet if someone else charges there they wouldn't mind. It's probably just cheekyness. Around here we have a lot of "Corvette Parking Only" signs and at the McDonalds drive through it used to read "Speed Limit 10mph, Corvettes 85mph" lol
